Shayna Dix has served AISES as the Executive Assistant for the last two years and has recently transitioned to the Individual Membership Manager role. She has a background in Education and a Masters from the University of Denver in Nonprofit Leadership where her research focus was centered on lowering the graduation and achievement gaps within underrepresented communities.
As the Individual Membership Manager, Shayna is responsible for connecting the AISES Members to programming and opportunities within the organization. She also serves on the Inclusion and Belonging Advisory Council, whose mission is to support Indigenous Professionals and Students by creating resources for employers and educators to promote diversity, equity, and inclusion in these spaces.
As an activist and advocate for underrepresented populations, Shayna is deeply passionate about hearing the personal stories of the people she works with and for. Her personal connections to poverty and humble beginnings fuel her passion for education and systemic change. Shayna is deeply humbled and honored to be supporting the mission of AISES to increase the representation of Indigenous peoples in STEM fields.
