  • Varied Roles Based on Candidate Specialization: The internship roles will differ based on the chosen candidate's degree and specialization. Engineering students will collaborate with BPA's energy efficiency engineers to support the identification, facilitation, and measurement of energy efficiency projects within BPA’s customer utility territories. Non-engineering students will assist in supporting and coordinating BPA’s energy efficiency programs, particularly focusing on tribal and low-income efficiency programs.
  • Involvement in Energy Efficiency Projects: Both engineering and non-engineering interns will engage in tasks related to BPA’s energy efficiency initiatives, providing support for program development and implementation. They will have the opportunity to learn about BPA’s energy efficiency acquisition efforts and its collaboration with customers, especially tribal communities and tribal utilities.
  • Diverse Learning Opportunities: The internship offers a chance for hands-on learning, active participation, and contribution to significant organizational processes and decision-making related to energy efficiency programs, regardless of the candidate's degree specialization.
  • Ideal Candidate Profile: For engineering-focused interns, BPA seeks candidates pursuing degrees in electrical or mechanical engineering. For non-engineering-focused interns, candidates from diverse fields such as business, economics, mathematics, public policy, communications, or related disciplines are preferred.
