Internships for Students in STEM fields

The AISES Internship Program opens doors for students eager to explore STEM careers firsthand. Tailored to aspiring STEM professionals, our program offers immersive 10-week summer internships allowing you to dive into real-world projects and build a foundation for your dream career. We go the extra mile, supporting advanced studies and helping you forge valuable professional connections.

NRCS offers internships for degree-seeking undergraduate and graduate students studying agricultural and natural resources-related fields.

Location: TBD

Interns are provided with the following: 

  • Stipends
  • Hourly Wage
  • Student Intern Travel to and From Duty Stations
  • Student Intern Travel During Internship
  • Housing (for student only)

Eligible Student Level: Undergraduate and Graduate Students

GPA: 3.0 or higher

Eligible Fields of Study:  Preferred list of majors include, but not limited to: Agriculture, Natural Resources, Agriculture/Civil Engineering, Agronomy, Soil Sciences, Range Sciences, Plant Pathology, Civil or Environmental Engineering, Ecosystems Management, Agricultural Science/Biology/Management, Biological Science (e.g., Plant, Crop), Wildlife Biology, Geology/Hydrology/Watershed, Forestry, Air Quality

Internship Terms and Conditions: 

  • Intern must complete the entire 10 weeks of full-time work in the assigned office. Intern should not undertake this commitment if it creates undue hardship or if their personal or financial obligations prevent them from participating for the full 10 consecutive weeks.
  • Provide a comprehensive assessment of the program upon its completion.
  • Agree to and abide by the AISES Code of Conduct.

About:

Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) is an agency of the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) that provides technical assistance to farmers and other private landowners and managers.

Its mission is to improve, protect, and conserve natural resources on private lands through a cooperative partnership with state and local agencies. While its primary focus has been agricultural lands, it has made many technical contributions to soil surveying, classification, and water quality improvement.
