Oryon Begay

Oryon, a proud member of the Navajo Nation, brings to AISES a wide range of accounting experience as the Grants Finance Officer based in the Albuquerque office. He joined AISES in November of 2022. 

The Grants Finance Officer, under the guidance of the Director of Grant Compliance, is responsible for overseeing the compliance of all government grants, foundation and corporate awards, and contracts for a myriad portfolio of programs. This includes providing support to affiliates, providing update reports, maintaining expense budget and analysis accounting, and serving as an internal liaison to program staff in their roles as they relate to grant compliance. He will liaison with the accounting department to support bookkeeping processes, financial accountability, and audit preparation.

In his personal life, he looks forward to time with his wife and three beautiful daughters. His off-the job interests include weightlifting, reading, and video games. He also serves in the United States Army Reserves.

Oryon graduated from the University of New Mexico (UNM) with a Bachelor of Business Administration and an emphasis in Accounting. He is currently pursuing a Master of Science in Cybersecurity and Business Analytics at UNM.
