The 2012 Leadership Summit takes place February 17-20 at the Hyatt Regency Tamaya on Santa Ana Pueblo near Albuquerque, NM.

AISES has re-designed our winter Leadership Conference to include professionals.

The first annual AISES Leadership Summit will be focused on building skill and aptitude levels of AISES members in the realm of professional and career development—to better prepare AISES members to attain jobs and careers in the fields of STEM.  A brand new component to be delivered at the Leadership Summit is a formal mentoring training matching program for approximately 30 AISES college students with AISES professional members.  In addition to organizing learning sessions, there will also be peer to peer networking, regional conference planning, traditional closing circle and a closing banquet.

2012 AISES Mentor Program

Consider participating in this new pilot mentor program which will match and train 30 AISES undergraduate and graduate mentees with 30 AISES professionals as mentors.  This exclusive program will assist AISES students in:

  •  Preparing for personal and professional growth within the STEM fields

  •  Provide support from another American Indian or Alaska Native in a professional capacity

  •  Build confidence to continue onto a career path in STEM

Participants will be selected and matched based on information collected before the Leadership Summit. Mentees and mentors are expected to make a 1 year commitment and communicate on a regular basis in order to facilitate a supportive environment for collegiate and career success.

Please note: to apply for program participation, use the online registration tool. In order to be considered, please indicate willingness by answering the mentor program question when registering online. Before the event, staff will contact interested members and ask that a survey be completed. This information will assist in the selection and matching process for mentees and mentors.

Only members that complete surveys will be considered for the mentor program. If selected, we shall notify you before the event.
