GeoComply Internship

Multiple positions are available with AISES partner, GeoComply in their Business Development and Field Performance team.

At GeoComply, we empower the future of digital trust as well as the future of our people. As the Business Development Intern, you’ll team up with our best and brightest to learn, share ideas, execute and create innovative solutions that directly impact the industries and communities served by our business. The internship will be located in Las Vegas, NV. Interns will process and strategize with the Business Development team to develop awareness and knowledge of gaming legislations, support the submission of gaming license applications, and learn and perform due diligence checks.

Another position will be open in the GeoComply Field Performance team as an Operations Support Intern. The intern will assist in field performance testing by providing support with building out a testing laboratory environment. Along with assisting with documentation to improve test cases and working in JIRA to organize data dashboards and collaborate with the performance team to analyze data and identify insights that make the test more efficient/effective. The Field Performance Intern will be based in New York, NY.

Through the American Indian Science and Engineering Society’s (AISES) Summer Internship Program. AISES is pleased to partner with GeoComply for a 2023 summer internship program. The Program will provide students with hands-on experience and opportunities to gain relevant skills and knowledge, help prepare for their transition to the workplace, explore career options, and develop professional networks.

INTERNS ARE PROVIDED WITH THE FOLLOWING:

Round-trip airfare or mileage to internship site up to $500
Weekly stipend - $500
Lodging will be provided
Weekly Local transportation allowance - $50
Please note that lodging is for the intern only. Family and friends cannot be accommodated, as each intern will be assigned another intern as a roommate whenever feasible. These provisions are non-negotiable.

INTERNSHIP TERMS & CONDITIONS

Intern must complete the entire 10 weeks of full-time work in the assigned office. Intern should not undertake this commitment if it creates undue hardship or if their personal or financial obligations prevent them from participating for the full 10 consecutive weeks.
Work exclusively for GeoComply.
Provide a comprehensive assessment of the program upon its completion.
Agree to and abide by the AISES Code of Conduct.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS REQUIRED

Educated.
- Working towards a degree in business, finance, economics marketing, or similar field of study—Business Development Intern
- Working towards a degree in computer science, engineering, data analysis or a similar field of study—Field Performance Intern
Discrete. You demonstrate the ability to maintain a high level of integrity, discretion, and confidentiality of sensitive, complex information.
Analytical. You have an eye for detail and have the ability to interpret data into simple, intuitive information.
Detail-oriented. You have a keen eye for the little things, and you’re comfortable working in granular details.
Organized and agile. You have excellent organization, prioritization, and time management skills. You have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment to support a rapidly growing technology company.
Exceptional communication skills. Whether it is written or verbal, people know what you mean, what you are asking for, and what is expected.
Proficient. You are proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint), Adobe Pro, and G Suite Programs (Google Docs, Google Sheets, Google Slides)
Knowledgeable. Familiarity with Kibana, Jira, Confluence, and Atlassian is an asset.

Eligibility

ELIGIBILITY

Applicant must have a 3.0 minimum grade point average (GPA) (on a 4.0 scale);
Applicant must be current AISES Member;
Applicant must be a U.S. citizen;
Applicants must be enrolled and pursuing the following degrees in an undergraduate or graduate program of an accredited college or university;
Applicants must be enrolled and pursuing the following degrees in an undergraduate or graduate program of an accredited college or university:
- Business, Finance, Economics, Marketing, or similar field of study - Business Development Intern
- Working towards a degree in computer science, engineering, data analysis or a similar field of study - Field Performance Intern
Undergraduate sophomores, juniors, and seniors along with graduate students are eligible to apply

AISES MEMBERSHIP

All internships require applicants be current AISES members at the time of application. All applicants will be required to enter a valid AISES membership number. To get a membership number join AISES or retrieve your membership number through AISES Membership Portal.

AISES membership is now free for all pre-college and college students.

STUDENT STATUS

Students must be a full-time junior going into their senior year or be a senior undergraduate or graduate student at an accredited four-year college/university at the time of application.

TRIBAL CITIZENSHIP

Applicants must be an enrolled citizen or descendant of an enrolled citizen of a federally or state recognized American Indian Tribe, Alaska Native Village, or Native Hawaiian or descendant of a Native Hawaiian. Enrollment documents and/or a copy of birth certificate(s) showing descendancy from an enrolled citizen or Native Hawaiian are acceptable. Applicants may also, instead, provide a copy of their Certificate of Degree of Indian Blood or Certificate of Degree of Alaska Native Blood (CDIB) card.

Application

All AISES Internship applications have three stages.

STAGE 1: GENERAL APPLICATION

All students must complete a general application in the OASIS scholarship (internship) platform. Go to https://webportalapp.com/sp/login/access_oasis to set up an account if you are a new user in OASIS or log into your existing account. OASIS is separate from the AISES membership portal and requires a unique username and password. Keep your OASIS login information as you may need to log-on multiple times to upload documents and check to see if your letters of recommendation have been submitted by your recommenders.

STAGE 2: INTERNSHIP APPLICATIONS

Students must fully complete the OASIS general application to view the internship(s) for which are eligible. To apply for an eligible internship, students must answer the required questions and submit all requested documents. Once completed, the internship will show up as “applied” in the scholarship tab. Each internship must be applied for separately and each internship will have unique requirements.

Required Documents for all STAGE 2 Applications

Resume: Submit your current resume through the OASIS platform. E-mailed resumes will not be accepted. If you need help creating a resume, your school will likely have a Career-Services office that can help. You can also find many good resources at https://careers.aises.org/jobseeker/resources.
Letters of Recommendation: Be sure to give your recommenders plenty of time to complete their recommendation (at least three weeks). It is often helpful to talk with them before you submit the form, to ensure they can complete a positive recommendation for you in a timely fashion. All recommendation letters must be submitted through the OASIS platform.
Essays: Students are required to submit 3 essays, up to 500 words each. These essays are an important part of the scholarship review process.
- Essay Prompt 1: Please share a personal statement highlighting your background, academic achievements, and interests. Include information on courses taken and any honors or advanced placement courses. Talk about what motivates and challenges you intellectually and what impact you hope to have in your community and/or profession.
- Essay Prompt 2: What stimulated your interest in your chosen major or area of study?
- Essay Prompt 3: What activity or activities (cultural, community-related, occupational, academic, athletic, etc.) most clearly reflect your character? Please describe your participation. Why is participation in this activity or these activities important to you?

STAGE 3: POST ACCEPTANCE

After the internship deadline, all applicants will go through a review process. Finalist will move into post acceptance where they will be required to submit additional documents for verification.
