AISES Celebrates 40 Years of Supporting Native People in STEM!

Cheers!  Today is AISESs' 40^th birthday and throughout 2017 we will be celebrating this milestone.  Incorporated in 1977, we trumpet our achievements, longevity, and strength in promoting science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) studies in indigenous groups and communities.  Progress, interest and excitement for our work and initiatives include:

• Publish Winds of Change Magazine
• Partner in the 50k Coalition
• Awarded $408,500 in 2016-2017 Academic Year Scholarships
• Host Indian Country’s Largest College and Career Fair
• Produce Opportunities and Pathway Newsletters
• Support several Advisory Councils
• Champion Tribal Colleges in STEM education
• Lighting the Pathway to Faculty Careers for Natives in STEM 
• Host National American Indian Virtual Science and Engineering Fair
• Celebrate Professionals of the Year in STEM Careers and Education
• Experienced Board of Directors
• Host Annual Leadership Summit
• Annually award the Ely S. Parker Award to a Champion making significant contributions in STEM education or STEM workforce 
• Support 130 College Chapters
• Increase STEM capacity in Indian Country through AISES National Conference
• Improve STEM education from middle school through college
• Develop internships with corporate partners
• Increase Sequoyah Lifetime Members to over 1,300 
• AISES membership is over 4,000 members and growing
• Relocate to new offices to increase staff size to meet organizational growth
