How you can help host over 2,000 at the 2017 AISES National Conference!

The American Indian Science and Engineering Society (AISES) is thrilled to announce its 2017 National Conference on September 21-23 at the Colorado Convention Center in Denver, Colorado! 

AISES is currently seeking individuals to serve on the Local Volunteer Committee (LVC)!  The purpose of the Local Volunteer Committee is to involve local American Indian/Alaskan Native/Native Hawaiian and other interested communities in the planning and execution of the National Conference.  The LVC provides valuable assistance to AISES throughout the planning process on specific tasks including community outreach, cultural activities and food, conference volunteer recruitment, and more.

AISES’ mission is to increase the representation of North American indigenous students and professionals in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) fields.  This year we are celebrating our 40th Anniversary with the largest STEM Career and Opportunities Fair, over 50 sessions, gala, and a powwow featuring the Northern Cree Singers.  We are very excited to have this year’s conference in Colorado where AISES and the Winds of Change Magazine were founded.  We are looking forward to spotlighting the culture, organizations, corporations, institutions of higher learning, scientific community, diversity and scenic beauty that is uniquely Colorado!

LVC members must:

  • Be 18 years or older and of the local (and/or AISES) community
  • Be committed to the AISES mission
  • Contribute volunteer time prior to, during and after the conference
  • Commit to 2 monthly in person and/or web conference meetings leading up to the Conference
