Call for Student Research Judges

Post Date: November 9 2015

Greetings!

Are you coming to the AISES National Conference being held at the Phoenix Convention Center, this November 19-21?  Do you have a few hours to spare?  We are recruiting judges for the Student Research Presentation competition happening at the conference.  If you have some spare time on your hands, we hope you will take advantage of this opportunity to meet, support and encourage up and coming American Indian/Alaska Native/Native Hawaiian scientists, mathematicians and engineers by serving as a student research presentation judge.

While we know most people enjoy volunteering just for the sake of volunteering, we’d like to thank those of you who decide to volunteer to judge student presentations, by giving you a discounted conference registration.  (Don’t worry, we’ll refund part of your fees if you have already registered and paid.)  The rate for judges is just $235…. which is more than half the professional member’s rate of $475.  That’s a savings of $240.00!  What could you do with $240.00?!  If you haven't registered yet, we'll send you a special link for registering at the discounted rate.

How to Volunteer

Judges are needed for all research groups (precollege, undergraduate and graduate), and presentation types (oral or poster). Judging criteria and times are listed below.  If you would like to be considered for a Research Presentation Judge spot, please send a copy of your current Resume or CV by this Thursday, November 12, 2015to Tina Farrenkopf, Director of Programs, at tfarrenkopf@aises.org.  Please indicate your preferred group (precollege, undergraduate, or graduate) and your preferred presentation type (orals or posters -- you can do both as they are on separate days).

Judges will be selected based upon the criteria listed below as well as the research disciplines submitted.   Selected judges will receive 50% off the full Registration Professional fee.  Please note you are responsible for all travel expenses.
