Call for Session Proposals

The extended deadline of July 10 is quickly approaching!

The American Indian Science and Engineering Society (AISES) encourages a diverse array of session presenters and STEM topics for the 2020 AISES Hybrid National Conference! If you have not yet presented at an AISES conference, we encourage you to submit a session proposal!

This year, the AISES National Conference will continue as planned as a hybrid event, with the addition of an all-new virtual format and activities. Therefore, during the session submission stage for session proposals, presenters will be asked a couple questions regarding permission to record presentations and if you are equipped to present remotely. The sessions selected will be scheduled for either the in-person, virtual or both events.

Sessions AISES is Seeking:

While we encourage you to propose any session that fits well within one of our , this year we are also specifically seeking session proposals that address the topics listed under each track. We encourage sessions that are interactive, upbeat, and inspiring. Sessions that draw the largest attendance and best evaluations are those that include activities and audience participation. We encourage panel discussions that offer diverse insight and information. We have also found that attendees like “themed” sessions that drawn on contemporary pop culture (movies, music, etc.) to contextualize the content.

AISES has been and will continue to monitor the ever-changing, daily developments with the COVID-19 (Coronavirus) pandemic and any potential impact it may have on the 2020 AISES National Conference. Our first priority is the safety and well-being of our members, partners, employees, and the communities that we serve. AISES is planning for an in-person conference in October, but is working to determine all possible options, pre-event precautions, and proactive practices and updates surrounding 2020 AISES National Conference. This could include hosting a virtual conference or a hybrid in-person/virtual conference. During the submission stage for research or session proposals, presenters will be asked a couple questions regarding permission to record presentations and if you are equipped to present remotely.
