Research Presentations – Call for Abstracts

Pre-college (high school juniors and seniors only), undergraduate and graduate students are invited to showcase their scientific research at oral and poster presentation sessions during the 2015 AISES National Conference and Career Fair in beautiful Phoenix, Arizona, this November 13-15, 2015.  These judged sessions enable participants to receive feedback on the quality of their research, as well as to obtain citable credit for their presentation.   Awards and prizes are given to top placing research in each category.

General abstract submission criteria for each group; pre-college, undergraduate, graduate is listed below. 

Student Eligibility

  • Current AISES member.  http://www.aises.org/membership
  • Currently registered in an undergraduate or graduate program, or a high school student (junior/ senior only).
  • Have conducted research in science, technology, engineering or mathematics (STEM).

Abstract Submission Guidelines
The Online Abstract Submission Platform will be available from September 1 – September 30, 2015.  All abstracts must be submitted no later than midnight (MDT), Wednesday, September 30, 2015. 

  • Must be new research.  If a continuation of ongoing research, the updated research findings should be presented.
  • Abstracts must contain the following:
    • Poster title, authors, and institution(s)
    • A hypothesis/statement of problem
    • Experimental methods/methodology used
    • Results (even if preliminary)
    • A conclusion
    • Acknowledgements (optional)
  • Abstracts must be no longer than 250 words
  • All approved abstracts will be published in the 2015 AISES Abstract Book.  Participation in this event implies permission to use your photograph and name for promotional purposes.
Abstract Acceptance Notifications
  • Notifications will be emailed by October 16, 2015.
  • Student presenters will receive complimentary conference registration information.
Presentation Schedule
  • Thursday, November 19 (10:30 am to 3:00 pm) – oral presentations
  • Friday, November 20 (8:00 am to 12:00 pm) – poster presentations
  • Awards announced at Traditional Honors Banquet on Saturday evening, November 21, 2015
