Reminder to Join the 2022 AISES Energy Challenge!

The AISES Energy Challenge 2022 is upon us! AISES is looking for 6th to 12th grade American Indian, Alaska Native, and Native Hawaiian students to create real-world energy solutions for their communities. This Challenge allows for countless solutions to be created because there are many questions to be answered, including:
- How much energy do we use?

Can we reduce usage?
-
What ways can energy be generated?
-
How is it transported?
-
How can we store energy?
- What improvements can be made?
Students who participate will work through a two-part process to create solutions for their Energy Challenge:

Identifying an energy-related problem that directly affects them and/or their community.
- Creating possible solutions using creative, hands-on, problem solving, engineering processes.

“In Idaho we can have harsh winters and it is predominantly rural. Electricity may not be available where the animals are being pastured. When their water supply freezes over, they could die from dehydration. Solution proposals are due by February 18, 2022. And don’t forget to check out the
resources we have on the Energy Challenge Website.
This opportunity is a challenge and student projects are judged in two phases with winners announced at the 2022 AISES National Conference.
