2016 AISES Professional Awards Call for Nominations - AISES is proud to announce that nominations are being accepted for the 2016 AISES Professional Awards in the categories of Executive Excellence, Technical Excellence, Most Promising Engineer or Scientist, and the NEW Blazing Flame Award.

The Certified Federal Surveyors Program (CFedS) Scholarship - co-administered by the Department of the Interior's Bureau of Land Management and the National Society of Professional Surveyors (NSPS) and it provides unique and extensive training for PLS in understanding federal survey processes. CFedS is designed to: increase the pool of qualified surveyors to perform work on or near federal interest lands, including Indian lands; to ensure such surveys comply with federal regulations and policies, decreasing the chance and expense of rework; and provide opportunities to increase self-determination for Indian tribes.

Intel's America's Greatest Makers - tech competition television show where maker teams pitch their ideas / concepts in the smart-connected realm, showcase their prototype and compete for $1,000,000. Season one is currently airing, Tuesday's on TBS and is showcasing the wide variety of creativity and innovation that can be accomplished with the Intel Curie Module.

Tapia Conference - highlights and celebrates the technical achievements of diverse people in computer science.  With over 1,000 participants, it is the premiere venue to find mentors, find internships/jobs, learn about career paths in academia and industry, learn about the latest research, and build networks with other diverse people in the field of computing. Tapia is more than just a conference; it’s a community.

The PRIDE Program hosted by Georgia Regents University (GRU) - PRIDE is designed to train junior faculty to do bench and clinical research related to hemoglobin and red blood cell membrane diseases. Functional and translational genomic approaches will be used to investigate mechanisms of globin gene regulation and proteomics to study the red blood cell membrane in health and disease. During the Institute, mentees will learn how to access public databases established by the Human Genome Project and to perform basic data mining procedures.

Phoenix AISES Scholarship - available to American Indian, Alaskan Native, and Native Hawaiian high school students and college students who attend an accredited two year or four year college/university in the state of Arizona.

Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) and Strategic Systems Program Scholarship - designed to reach out to the next generation of scientists and engineers. This program strives to address decreasing numbers of science and engineering graduates by providing financial assistance to students pursuing Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) degrees.

The 2016 Siemens Competition - The Siemens Foundation established the Siemens Competition in Math, Science & Technology in 1999. The Competition is the nation’s premiere science research competition for high school students and seeks to promote excellence by encouraging students to undertake individual or team research projects. Scholarships for winning projects range from $1,000 to $100,000.

NASA Internships are educational hands-on traineeships that provide unique NASA-related research and operational experiences for high school, undergraduate, and graduate students as well as educators. These internships integrate participants with career professionals emphasizing mentor-directed, degree-related, real-world task completion. During the internship participants engage in scientific or engineering research, development, and operations activities. In addition, there are non-technical internship opportunities to engage in professional activities which support NASA business and administrative processes.

Neuroscience Scholars Program at the Society for Neuroscience - This long-standing fellowship provides opportunities to graduate students and postdoctoral fellows with disabilities and/or underrepresented ethnic backgrounds in the biomedical sciences.
