PreCollege Opportunities
Champions for Change- The Center for Native American Youth (CNAY) is now accepting applications for the 2017 class of Champions for Change! Champions for Change are young Native Americans (ages 14 to 22) who demonstrate leadership and service within tribal and urban Indian communities, schools, and/or programs.
Phoenix AISES Scholarship - available to American Indian, Alaskan Native, and Native Hawaiian high school students and college students who attend an accredited two year or four-year college/university in the state of Arizona.
Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) and Strategic Systems Program Scholarship - designed to reach out to the next generation of scientists and engineers. This program strives to address decreasing numbers of science and engineering graduates by providing financial assistance to students pursuing Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) degrees.
The 2016 Siemens Competition - The Siemens Foundation established the Siemens Competition in Math, Science & Technology in 1999. The Competition is the nation’s premiere science research competition for high school students and seeks to promote excellence by encouraging students to undertake individual or team research projects. Scholarships for winning projects range from $1,000 to $100,000.
NASA Internships are educational hands-on traineeships that provide unique NASA-related research and operational experiences for high school, undergraduate, and graduate students as well as educators. These internships integrate participants with career professionals emphasizing mentor-directed, degree-related, real-world task completion. During the internship participants engage in scientific or engineering research, development, and operations activities. In addition, there are non-technical internship opportunities to engage in professional activities which support NASA business and administrative processes.
Undergrad Opportunities
Esri Education GIS Conference - Attendees will explore how geographic information system (GIS) technology fosters critical thinking skills and improves decision making. Participants will receive hands-on training, learn best practices, and receive updates on all things GIS for both inside the classroom and policy making.

Intel's America's Greatest Makers - tech competition television show where maker teams pitch their ideas / concepts in the smart-connected realm, showcase their prototype and compete for $1,000,000. Season one is currently airing, Tuesday's on TBS and is showcasing the wide variety of creativity and innovation that can be accomplished with the Intel Curie Module.
Ancestral Lands Programs - open to youth and young adults to complete conservation work projects on public lands through the Southwest. Apply now for Navajo ancestral lands crew member positions. AGES 18-30. Start dates vary.
Tapia Conference - highlights and celebrates the technical achievements of diverse people in computer science. With over 1,000 participants, it is the premiere venue to find mentors, find internships/jobs, learn about career paths in academia and industry, learn about the latest research, and build networks with other diverse people in the field of computing. Tapia is more than just a conference; it’s a community.
NGA Student Internship Program - NGA views student employees as our future workforce; therefore, work assigned to students is professional in nature and is conducted in a learning environment that provides each student real-world experience and an opportunity to be evaluated for potential long-term employment. Student employment assignments are open to associate, undergraduate, graduate, and post-graduate students and are based on entry-level professional job descriptions, which will involve a great deal of independent and team oriented work under the guidance of a senior-level supervisor and mentors.

AfterCollege has awarded more than $1,000,000 in scholarships and student activities through our program to date. As a job and internship resource, our scholarships are for students who demonstrate professionalism and effectively communicate how they will be exemplary candidates in their field.

Neuroscience Scholars Program at the Society for Neuroscience - This long-standing fellowship provides opportunities to graduate students and postdoctoral fellows with disabilities and/or underrepresented ethnic backgrounds in the biomedical sciences. Our application will be opening on the 20th of April, and will remain open until mid-May.
The Ph.D Project - DID YOU KNOW? -- The Ph.D Project hosts an annual conference each year for Native American, Hispanic- American and African- American candidates considering a PhD in business?
