The American Indian Science and Engineering Society (AISES) is excited to announce that registration is now open for the 2017 AISES National Conference.  Held annually, the conference is the premier event for American Indian science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) students and professionals.

National Native Health Research Training Initiative
AISES is proud to announce partnership with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Indian Health Service, the American Indian Higher Education Consortium, and the Native Research Network in launching the First Annual National Native Health Research Training (NNHRT) Conference!

Accepting Research Proposals for the 2017 AISES National Conference
Calling all high school, undergraduate, and graduate students and professionals who would like to present their STEM research! We invite you to PRESENT at the 2017 AISES National Conference in Denver, CO this September 21-23, 2017!  This call is for both oral and poster research presentations.

Call for Student Research Competition Judges
We are looking for AISES professional members to volunteer as judges for the student research competition.  We need assistance in judging high school poster presentations, undergraduate poster presentations and undergraduate oral presentations.

AISES Professional Chapter Awards Program
The Professional Chapter Awards Program allows chapters to identify their strengths and recognize the accomplishments of their fellow chapters. Applications are due August 5, 2017

“Lighting the Pathway to Faculty Careers for Natives in STEM” program
This full circle of support will help guide students to successful degree completion and advancement to the next stage on the academic career path. In addition to full circle mentorship, the program strives to provide students with valuable academic and professional support, travel funding, and educational, research, fellowship, and internship opportunities.

Volunteer for the National Conference
We request volunteers commit to a 6-hour time slot.  With that commitment, volunteers will be provided a volunteer shirt and a 50% discounted registration to the conference. The discount applies to a full conference registration only.

2017 National Conference Travel Scholarships
AISES is pleased to announce that we will begin accepting applications for travel scholarships to this year’s National Conference in Denver, CO September 21-23, 2017. Awards will vary in amount and are meant to help cover the following expenses: roundtrip airfare, lodging, and conference registration. Any remaining funds after those items will help to cover other associated travel costs.

Intel Growing the Legacy Scholarship Program
 $10,000 for graduate students
Support for 20 graduate and 20 undergraduate students each year. While this Program is not automatically renewing, awardees are encouraged to re-apply each year. The Intel Growing the Legacy Scholarship Program includes financial support, mentorship, paid internship opportunities, and, upon successful graduation, employment opportunities with Intel. 

Northrop Grumman Scholarship
$5,000 per academic year
AISES students who are currently full-time undergraduate freshmen, sophomores, or juniors studying at qualified schools. The Northrop Grumman Scholarship is open to students studying Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering or Systems Engineering.

2017 Astra STEAM Summit
San Jose, CA; August 17-18, 2017

For girls (grades 6-12) interested in STEAM subjects and entrepreneurship. This event marries mentoring by STEAM industry women and pitching ideas to a panel of experts to give girls additional self-confidence and the practical business experience of working in teams. 

University of Denver All-Girls SciTech Camp- Denver, Colorado

SciGirls STEM training hosted by Concordia University Chicago

Based on the Emmy-award winning PBS KIDS television series SciGirls, educators who work with middle and high school girls are invited to participate in this hands-on, minds-on professional development training. Attendees will learn the latest research for exciting and engaging girls (and boys) in STEM, experience hands-on STEM activities, leave with curriculum that puts a creative twist on teaching STEM, learn how to modify activities to engage kids in STEM using the SciGirls Seven and discover additional online resources that enhance teaching and learning experiences for all kids.

NASA Internships 
Educational hands-on traineeships that provide unique NASA-related research and operational experiences for high school, undergraduate, and graduate students as well as educators. These internships integrate participants with career professionals emphasizing mentor-directed, degree-related, real-world task completion. During the internship participants engage in scientific or engineering research, development, and operations activities. In addition, there are non-technical internship opportunities to engage in professional activities which support NASA business and administrative processes.

Phoenix AISES Professional Chapter Scholarship Program
Administered by Phoenix AISES, this scholarship is made available to American Indian, Alaskan Native, and Native Hawaiian high school seniors and college students who attend an accredited two year or four year college/university in the state of Arizona. The award is for the 2017 fall semester and will be awarded in October 2017.

Virtual Presentation Opportunity
The Virtual Poster Showcase (VPS) is a low-cost and high-value online poster presentation opportunity that allows students to share their research without having to travel to a conference. Students are guided through the essential peer-review process, during which they learn to evaluate each other’s research.

SIPES Foundation Earth Science Scholarship Program
The SIPES Foundation has awarded scholarships to more than 200 outstanding earth science and engineering students since it was founded in 1981.Applications are accepted each year from upper-division or graduate students majoring in any earth science, geophysics or petroleum engineering who have an overall grade point average of 3.5 or higher and are U.S. Citizens.

The CryptoClub Project develops classroom and web-based materials to teach cryptography and related mathematics to middle-grade students in informal settings.
