Intel Next Generation of Native Coders: Applied Computer Science Principles and Career Readiness Course

AISES would like to announce the continuation of the Native Coders program, funded by Intel, for the Academic Year 2022-2023! If you are an educator at a high school within Arizona, California, Oregon, or New Mexico, please keep reading!

The American Indian Science and Engineering Society (AISES) has partnered with Intel to expand computer science education and career readiness in schools within Arizona, California, Oregon, and New Mexico that serve Indigenous students. This project aims to increase the number of Indigenous students in the technology and engineering fields, in academia, and professionally.

The project is a continued collaboration between AISES and Intel. AISES is excited to further expand the initiative, which started with three schools on the Navajo Nation Reservation, then continued into four additional school sites since 2019! This year-long course combines applied computer science, engineering, and college and career readiness in technology and engineering fields. The course features culturally-contextualized lessons to further engage Native learners.
