National American Indian Virtual Science & Engineering Fair

AISES is hosting its third virtual science and engineering fair this spring! The National American Indian Virtual Science and Engineering Fair (NAIVSEF) is a Society for Science and the Public (SSP) affiliated science fair and as such is part of the larger SSP fair network. AISES awards cash prizes to senior and junior division winners and also pays the travel and registration fees for the Senior Division Grand Award winners and their sponsors to attend the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair (this year being held in Phoenix, Arizona, May 8–13, 2016).

Registration Deadline for Senior Division:  January 26, 2016 at 11:59 p.m. MDT.

Summer Internships

The AISES Internship Program provides students with applied work experience and an opportunity to explore career options. Placing students in 10-week summer positions with partner agencies, the program also promotes advanced study to the graduate level and assists students in developing professional networks. AISES has internship positions available with our partners the Bonneville Power Administration (Pacific Northwest). Interns are provided with the following: round-trip airfare or mileage to internship site, weekly stipend of $550, dormitory lodging and a weekly Local transportation allowance of $70.

The application deadline for BPA is January 31, 2016 at 11:59 p.m. MDT.

AISES Mobile App Competition

The American Indian Science and Engineering Society (AISES) is accepting proposals from current student members to create, with the guidance from AISES staff and Intel developers, an app to assist in improving communications to the AISES members community. 

AISES is requesting current student members register and submit a proposal. The selected team will receive free registration to the 2016 AISES National Conference in Minneapolis, MN. (up to three members, teams can consist of more than three members, but AISES will only pay for up to three members to attend) and $1,500 in scholarship funding for undergraduate or graduate studies. (Total of $1,500 scholarship must be split if team has multiple members).
