AISES Professional of the Year Awards

AISES is proud to recognize the accomplishments and impact of leaders, innovators, and roles models for Native people in STEM fields through our Professional of the Year Awards. These Indigenous exemplars show us the way in promoting STEM innovation as well as helping others on their STEM education or career pathway.

Nominate a professional in one of the following categories by April 29, 2023.

Executive Excellence

Nominate an Indigenous executive leader, experienced in upper-level management or a well-established engineer, scientist, professional, or academician who has significant department and budget responsibilities. 

Most Promising Engineer or Scientist

Nominate an early career engineer or scientist with less than five years’ experience after earning their last degree. The candidate's early technical contributions should already indicate a promising career. 

Technical Excellence

Nominate an individual who has made a significant contribution to science, engineering or technology by having designed, developed, managed or assisted in the development of a product, service, system or intellectual property. 

Blazing Flame

Nominate an Indigenous professional with 10 or more years of experience who promotes STEM education and/or career advancement for Indigenous people within their organization.

 

Indigenous Excellence

Nominate an individual who has done substantial work to advance programs and opportunities for Indigenous students and professionals in STEM education and careers. Professionals with 10 or more years of experience working within their respective tribal community or incorporating Indigenous traditional knowledge in their work will be considered.
