AISES Lighting the Pathway

Cohort 2020

Additional applications for this year's cohort will be reviewed on a rolling basis

 

Full-time undergraduate, graduate, and Post-Doctoral scholars in Computer Information Science and Engineering and Mathematics and Physical Sciences who want to become a faculty members are welcome to apply for this year's Lighting the Pathway to Faculty Careers for Natives in STEM cohort!

 

This two-year cohort program offers a full circle of support to help guide scholars to successful degree completion and advancement to the next stage on the academic career path. Scholar support includes the following:

  • A participation stipend of $2,000 per year for two years
  • Travel funding to attend the AISES National Conference and AISES Leadership Summit or discipline-specific professional conference for two years for some
  • Mentorship by selected faculty mentors to interact with at least monthly
  • Quarterly skill-building, professional-development in-person programming and webinars
Eligibility
  • Must be enrolled in a program leading to an academic degree in Computer Information Science and Engineering and Mathematics and Physical Sciences at an accredited four-year college/university or two-year college
  • Interest in becoming a faculty member at a college, university, or tribal college/university
  • Have a 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale) or higher cumulative grade point average (GPA), with consideration being given to applicants reflecting somewhat lower GPAs but with high potential to raise the GPA above 3.0
  • Current member of AISES. AISES membership is now free for all pre-college and college students. .
