AISES Welcomes New Chief Operations Officer

I am pleased to announce that Amy Weinstein has recently joined AISES as our Chief Operations Officer (COO).

Amy will be responsible for Operations Management focusing on internal activities that will allow AISES CEO Sarah EchoHawk, more time to be the public face of AISES nationally. Amy will initially be working in program development and oversight including membership, scholarships, internships, as well as pre-college, college, and professional programs.With her extensive background in national conference management and execution, she will also be assisting with the first annual National Native Health Research Training Conference (September 18 & 19) and the 2017 AISES National Conference (September 21-23). Both conferences are being held at the Colorado Convention Center in Denver.

Prior to accepting this position, Amy served as the Executive Director of the National Scholarship Providers Association (NSPA) – a membership and scholarship industry resource. She has extensive nonprofit leader experience – making her invaluable in the day-to-day internal management of AISES. She will be a strong addition to our AISES team of passionate professionals seeking to increase science, technology, engineering, and math opportunities for North American indigenous students and professionals. Finally, it is worth noting that Amy is already part of our AISES family as she worked at AISES in the 1990s in Boulder before the headquarters moved to Albuquerque.
