AISES Computer Science Research Infrastructure Convening

 

AISES is pleased to announce the second Convening on Computer Science Research Infrastructure. In partnership with the National Science Foundation (NSF), Computer and Information Science and Engineering (CISE) directorate, the convening will serve faculty at Tribal Colleges and Universities (TCUs) and Native-serving institutions interested in Computer and Information Sciences and Computer Engineering and related fields research. The purpose of this project is to increase the number of funded research proposals coming from Native faculty and faculty at Native-serving intuitions, specifically in the fields funded by the NSF CISE directorate.

 

AISES is looking to recruit 40 faculty members from Native-serving institutions in Computer and Information Sciences and Computer Engineering and related fields or with Computer and Information Sciences and Computer Engineering -related interests to participate in a two-day, ideation convening to develop concept papers for research projects of interest to NSF CISE.

 

The two-day virtual convening will be held on December 2 and 3, 2020. The convening will focus on supporting idea development, collaborations, and technical assistance to develop projects with sound intellectual merit and broader impacts. Participants will work individually and collaboratively to identify and develop research project ideas within CISE areas of focus including artificial intelligence, smart and connected health, cyber security, and data science. Throughout the two-day meeting, researchers will participate in sessions providing insight into NSF CISE focus areas, opportunities, and technical assistance related to the development, submission, and review of competitive proposals.
