AISES Burlington Northern Santa Fe (BNSF) Foundation Scholarship

Scholarship Application is Available for Academic Year 2022-2023

 

Administered by AISES for the Burlington Northern Santa Fe Foundation (BNSF), this scholarship is made available to American Indian high school seniors with a 3.0 GPA or higher who reside in one of the 23 states serviced by the Burlington Northern and Santa Fe Pacific Corporation and its affiliated companies: Arizona, California, Colorado, Kansas, Minnesota, Montana, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oklahoma, Oregon, South Dakota, Texas, Washington, Arkansas, Louisiana, Utah, Nevada, Wyoming, Illinois, Missouri, Nebraska, Wisconsin, or Iowa.

 

Scholarship Amount

$2,500 per academic year, up to 4 years. **This award is for four years (for a maximum of 8 semesters) or until baccalaureate degree is obtained, whichever occurs first. Those awarded must maintain a 2.75 GPA their freshman and sophomore years and a 3.0 GPA their junior and senior years to receive scholarships for all four years.

 

Eligible Degrees

Business, Economics, Finance, Mathematics, Technology, Supply Chain, Information Systems, Communications, Computer and Information Sciences, Construction Management, Construction Trades, Marketing, Engineering, Industrial Engineering, and Agriculture.

 

Student Status

Students must be accepted as a full-time undergraduate student at an accredited four-year college/university, or a current college student.

 

Location

Must reside in one of the 23 states serviced by the BNSF and its affiliated companies: Arizona, California, Colorado, Kansas, Minnesota, Montana, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oklahoma, Oregon, South Dakota, Texas, Washington, Arkansas, Louisiana, Utah, Nevada, Wyoming, Illinois, Missouri, Nebraska, Wisconsin, or Iowa

 

Grade Point Average

Must have a 3.0 or higher cumulative grade point average (GPA) in order to apply.

 

Tribal Citizenship

Applicants must be: an enrolled citizen or a descendant of an enrolled citizen of a federal or state recognized American Indian Tribe or Alaska Native Village; or Native Hawaiian or descendant from a Native Hawaiian; or Pacific Islander or descendant from Pacific Islander; or Indigenous person of Canada. Enrollment documents and/or a copy of birth certificate(s) showing descendancy from an enrolled citizen, Indigenous group of Canada, Native Hawaiian, or Pacific Islander are acceptable. Applicant may also, instead, provide a copy of their Certificate of Degree of Indian Blood or Certificate of Degree of Alaska Native Blood (CDIB) card. AISES Membership

All scholarships require applicants be current AISES members at the time of application. All applicants will be required to enter a valid AISES membership number. To get a membership number join AISES or retrieve your membership number through AISES Membership Portal.

AISES BNSF Scholarship application deadline is May 31, 2022 at 10:59 PM (PDT); 11:59 PM (MDT); 12:59 AM (CDT); 1:59 AM (EDT).
