Michaela Henry hails from Yahtahey, New Mexico. She is a member of the Navajo Nation whose clans are Tsin Sikaadnii (The Clump Tree), born for Bit’ahnii (the Folded Arms People), she maternal grandfather is Naakaii Dine’é (The Mexican Clan), and her paternal grandfather's clan is Dziłtł’ahnii (The Mountain Cove Clan).

Prior to joining AISES, she worked in the sports industry with the University of New Mexico and IRONMAN® World Triathlon Corporation.

While earning a bachelor’s degree from Haskell Indian Nations University in Lawrence, Kansas, Michaela was heavily involved in the Haskell Athletics department where she volunteered to work with the student athletes as a trainer. Due to her love of athletics and working with students, she was promoted to one of several student coaches for the football team. Michaela holds a B.S. in Business Management from Haskell Indian Nations University, and a M.S. in Sports Management from the University of Central Missouri.

Michaela is a meticulous corporate event planner with over eight years of experience in coordinating conference, travel, meetings, and events. She has experience as a volunteer for the Navajo Nation Fair office, coordinating fundraising for high school clubs and programs, organizing fitness runs, intramural events, back to school events, fairs, and many other activities.

Michaela comes from a close-knit family. She has four siblings: one sister and three brothers, and one nephew. She loves to travel, enjoys sports, and hobbies. She is adventurous and is willing to do something new or different. She is looking forward to further developing her skills and experience by maturing with AISES as the new events officer.
