Application Deadline: February 14, 2008

AISES is pleased to announce the Broadening Participation in Computing Demonstration Project Summer 2008.

The ultimate goal of the program is to increase the number of American Indian students majoring in computing disciplines, working in a computing career, pursuing graduate education in the computing fields, and ultimately attaining a Ph.D. in a computing discipline. The program will be structured to maximally expose the students within an undergraduate research opportunity host institution(s) that is versed in computing theory, applications, and role models. This approach will expand the students’ academic and professional horizons; and ultimately inspire more American Indian students to complete baccalaureate and graduate degrees in computing disciplines. This project is funded by a grant from the National Science Foundation. The student will spend about 8-10 weeks at one of the host institutions: Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore MD, University of!
