Annual Chapter Reports

Guidelines for Your Chapter’s Annual Report

Attention College Chapters

Following are important annual deadlines for AISES College Chapters.

June 1 - Chapters must submit an Online Chapter Update

The online chapter update helps AISES maintain accurate contact information, and demonstrates each chapter's active status at the beginning of the academic year.

May 1 - Chapters must submit an Annual Chapter Report

The new Chapter Report Form provides the national office with information about your chapter's activities, member demographics and financial status.

The report standardizes our method of data collection across all chapters. The data will be compiled and will be used in part to evaluate educational trends across educational institutions, as well as to help AISES determine the types of services and programs needed an individual, regional and national basis.

Please send your completed report to:

FAQs

How do I determine my college Chapter's current status with the AISES National Office?

Active Chapters are those that have:

  • Submitted an online Chapter Update by by October 15th
  • Have at least 8 chapter members with current National AISES membership.

Once the online Chapter Update is received and is complete, the chapter is considered active and is listed on the AISES website. The President and Chapter Advisor of each active AISES college chapter are added to the appropriate AISES listserve.

Inactive Chapters are those that have not submitted an online Chapter Update by October 15th.

Why are Chapter Reports Important?
An annual report is required from each chapter by May 1st to keep the AISES Higher Education Department apprised of the status and ongoing activities of your chapter. Primarily, your chapter reports are used to:

  • To let us know how to contact you.
  • To keep the National Office apprised of the health of your chapter,
  • To help us identify ways to better serve you.
  • To understand local, regional and national issues, barriers, and concerns.
  • To highlight and share chapter successes.
  • To alert chapters of scholarship, internship, research and job opportunities.

Chapters that fail to submit their annual report will be considered inactive and ineligible to participate in the Chapter of the Year competition and other AISES activities, including the Student Caucuses that are held at the National Conference and the AISES Spring Leadership Conference.

What is the difference between a Chapter Report and a Chapter Update?

* A Chapter Report is required annually from every chapter on or before May 1st.
* A Chapter Update is required on or before October 15th to verify that your chapter is active for the current academic year, and throughout the academic year whenever your chapter 's contact information changes.

The online Chapter Update form should be submitted on:
October 15 to verify that your chapter is active for the current academic year, AND whenever your chapter contact information changes.

The Chapter Advisor and Student President Listserves are continually updated based on information received via the online Chapter Update Form.

The Chapter Update supplements the Chapter Report.

My college's chapter has been inactive for several years. Can I re-activate our chapter?
Yes. Please contact the AISES Higher Education Department for guidance on re-activating your chapter. The materials required to reinstate your chapter will depend on how long your chapter has been inactive.

How do I contact other AISES chapters?
To contact active College Chapters, Professional Chapters, and Affiliated K-12 schools, visit a region.

The Chapter Report may be used as a foundation for the AISES Distinguished Chapter of the Year Award.
