AISES Broadening Participation in Computing Project

AISES Broadening Participation in Computing Project
Application Postmark Deadline: February 14, 2008

The AISES Broadening Participation in Computing Project (BPC/DP) seeks to increase the number of American Indian/Alaskan Native (AI/AN) students in the computing disciplines or in fields that use computing as an integral part of their career work. As a part of the project, AISES provides the opportunity for students to partcipate in an undergraduate research opportunity with a university partner.

AISES partners with the University of Michigan, Johns Hopkins University, and the University of St. Thomas; or you can propose your own host.  The program will be structured to maximally expose the students to a research opportunity that is versed in computing theory, applications, and role models. This will expand the students’ academic and professional horizons, and provide them with a mentoring support network; and ultimately inspire more American Indian students to complete baccalaureate and graduate degrees in computing or related disciplines.
