Jeremy Hamilton
Professional Sequoyah Fellow

Born in the heart of Cherokee country, I grew up on a small farm in Oklahoma. I attended Sequoyah High School, and all Indian High School in Tahlequah Oklahoma. After high school I went on to receive my bachelors of science in Engineering Physics from Fort Lewis College (FLC). This degree was the first of its kind from Fort Lewis, and I became the first ever Native American to graduate with a degree from the Physics Department at FLC. I was hired by IBM and worked at the Almaden Research Center in San Jose CA for 4.5 years. During that time I was the local IBM Native American Diversity Network President, and the Vice-President of the National Native American Diversity Network (INDN). In the evening! s I attended Santa Clara University (SCU) in persuit of a Masters of Science in Information Systems (MSIS). I completed the MSIS program June of 2007, becoming the first Native American Graduate from SCU's Leavey School of Business. Since completing my masters I have changed job roles, now I am a field technical sales specialist for the IBM Mainframe, specializing in Application Development and problem determination tools. Though I have been away from home for a very long time, I make frequent trips home to visit my family and enjoy my culture.
